Sproutdoku

Privacy policy

Effective date:
Applies to the Sproutdoku Android app, including version 0.9.0.

Your puzzles stay on your device. Sproutdoku works offline. The current app does not send your gameplay or personal information to us and does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.

Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Sproutdoku handles information when you play, change preferences, or share a puzzle. Sproutdoku is provided by justinchronos ("we," "us," or "our").

Information stored on your device

Sproutdoku saves information in its private app storage so you can continue playing and keep your preferences. This includes:

  • Your current puzzle, challenge code, difficulty, placed symbols, notes, and undo history.
  • Playing time, hints, mistakes, completed puzzles, completion dates, and local puzzle history.
  • Your coin balance, earned rewards, and selected or unlocked symbol collections.
  • Preferences such as appearance, accent color, sound, touch feedback, text size, contrast, number display, and placement feedback.
  • Whether you have completed the introductory tutorial.

This information is used locally to operate the game. The Profile screen is a local collection of game statistics, not an online account. We do not receive or remotely access these saved records.

The app is configured to exclude its data from Android's automatic cloud backup and device-transfer mechanisms. We do not provide cloud saves or a server-side recovery service.

Information the app does not collect

The current app does not request your name, email address, telephone number, or account credentials. It does not access your contacts, location, photos, camera, or microphone, and it does not collect advertising identifiers.

Sproutdoku has no internet permission, developer-operated online accounts, advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. It does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Sharing puzzles is your choice

When you choose Share puzzle or share a result, Sproutdoku opens Android's share sheet. You choose the receiving app and recipient. The shared text contains a puzzle code and challenge link; a completed result also includes your finishing time and number of hints used.

If you choose Copy challenge code, the app writes that code to your device's clipboard. Clipboard access by other apps is controlled by Android.

Opening a Sproutdoku challenge link or entering a code lets the app generate that puzzle locally. Sproutdoku does not need a server to send or retrieve the board.

Any messaging, email, or other app you select handles the shared content under its own privacy practices. Copies sent to recipients or other apps are outside Sproutdoku's local storage and cannot be removed by clearing Sproutdoku's data.

Purchases and platform services

The current version does not process payments, offer active in-app purchases, or operate global leaderboards. Coins and collections are stored locally. We do not receive payment-card details through the app.

Android, Google Play, your device provider, and any app you use for sharing may separately process information, such as installation or diagnostic information, under their own settings and privacy policies. This is separate from Sproutdoku's own local game storage.

Children's privacy

Sproutdoku can be played without providing personal information, including by younger players. The current app does not include account registration, public player profiles, chat, advertising, or personal-information forms.

Parents and guardians may help children manage local game data and decide whether to share a puzzle through another app. For privacy questions involving a child, an adult can contact us using the details below. Please avoid sending unnecessary personal information about a child.

Retention and deleting your data

Local game data remains on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Some temporary records, such as undo steps and recent puzzle history, are limited by the game.

To delete the app's local data:

  1. Open Android Settings and select Apps.
  2. Select Sproutdoku, then Storage or Storage & cache.
  3. Choose Clear storage or Clear data.

Names of settings can vary by device. Clearing storage removes your puzzle progress, coins, collections, and preferences; clearing only the cache does not reset your saved game. Uninstalling the app also removes its app-private local data through Android.

There is no online Sproutdoku account to delete, and we cannot restore local progress once it has been removed. To remove information you shared elsewhere, use the controls of the receiving app or contact its recipient.

Storage and security

The app uses Android's private app storage to restrict ordinary access by other apps. Keep your device and operating system updated and use a device lock to help protect your information. No device or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Contact and privacy requests

Privacy contact: support@justinchronos.com

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address and message. We use it to respond to your request and retain it only as needed for that purpose, related follow-up, and applicable legal obligations. You may use the same contact to ask us to delete your correspondence, subject to those obligations. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above identifies the latest update. If a future version adds online services, purchases, advertising, or other data handling, this policy will be updated to describe those practices and any choices required before they apply.
